FAQ
Everything you need to know about Octa tablet mounting.
Compatibility
Octa components work with virtually any tablet — iPad (all sizes), Microsoft Surface, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Lenovo, Amazon Fire, and most Android tablets. The Spider grip is fully adjustable and accommodates tablets from 7" to 13".
Yes. The Spider accommodates iPad Pro 11" and 13" including the latest M4 models. We recommend using the size reference guide to confirm your model fits before ordering.
Absolutely — that's the whole point of the Spider. It clamps around the outside of your case, so you never have to remove it. Slim cases, keyboard folios, and most bumper cases all work. Extra-thick or rigid-hinge cases may need testing.
Yes. We also make a purpose-built OtterBox uniVERSE adapter plate that connects directly to the uniVERSE case system, giving you a rock-solid mount without the Spider grip. See our OtterBox compatibility page for details.
Setup & Installation
Open the Spider's four legs, place your tablet face-down in the center, then fold each leg up and over the corners until they click. Tighten the center knob to lock. Download the Spider Instruction Book for full step-by-step photos.
Every Octa component uses the same quarter-turn Octa Ring connector. Push any output into any input, rotate 90°, and it locks solid. To disconnect, rotate back and pull. No tools, no screws.
The Vacuum Dock works on any smooth, non-porous surface: glass, polished countertops, laminate desks, sealed wood, and most car dashboards. It does NOT work on textured, porous, or fabric surfaces. The suction cup can support over 40 lbs when properly sealed.
The Wall Mount uses two screws into drywall (anchors included for stud-free installation). Mark your spot, drill pilot holes, screw in the mount, and snap the Octa Ring in. The whole process takes about 3 minutes. See the Wall Mount Instruction Book for full instructions.
No. The Gravity Plate weighs 1.7 lbs of machined steel — that weight is the anchor. Place it on any flat surface and it stays put. No drilling, no adhesive. It works best on desks, countertops, nightstands, and kitchen counters.
Components & Kits
Individual components are the building blocks — Spider, MonkeyTail, Clamp, etc. Kits are curated bundles of 2–4 components that work great together out of the box. All kits use the same Octa Ring connectors, so you can add components later.
The Spider Monkey is Spider + MonkeyTail — a flexible gooseneck arm great for bedside, couch, and casual desk use. The Lynx adds a Clamp base, giving you a rigid clamp-to-desk setup with the gooseneck arm — ideal for standing desks and office use. The Lynx is the more structured, office-ready system.
Yes. The MonkeyTail is a flexible steel gooseneck rated to hold any current tablet including the 13" iPad Pro. It holds its position once bent into shape. For very precise positioning that needs to stay locked, the Bridge 360 articulating arm is the more rigid option.

Octa Rings can occasionally loosen with heavy use. In most cases, the ring can be pressed back into its base and the joint will re-secure. See our Octa Ring troubleshooting guide for visual instructions. If the problem persists, contact us for a replacement.
