TabletTail Tablet Stand Strikes Fortune.com’s Interest

February 2, 2012

Fortune.com noticed Octa’s Vacuum Dock + WhaleTail tablet stand out of the variety of tablet accessories present the first day of Macworld. This multi-functional accessory can be used as a tablet stand, handle, and grip.

Vacuum Dock + WhaleTail Adjustable iPad Stand

The TabletTail system starts with three components: the Vacuum Dock, WhaleTail and Dome Cap. Each part serves it’s own function, widening the variety of uses for this all-in-one accessory for iPads, tablets and e-readers.

Suction the Vacuum Dock to the back of any non-porous device or case by placing the suction cup against the surface and giving it five to six pumps. When properly attached, the Vacuum Dock can hold up to 60 pounds for a minimum of six hours, without re-pumping.

Use the Vacuum Dock as a grip with the Dome Cap. The small rubber Dome Cap covers the gear system used for TabletTail attachment, allowing the Vacuum Dock to be used comfortably as a grip. This use is particularly nice for e-readers and smaller tablets, like the Kindle and Kindle Fire.

Attach the WhaleTail by releasing the Dome Cap from the Vacuum Dock revealing it’s gear system. Simply click the WhaleTail into the Vacuum Dock and use the TabletTail as a tablet stand or handle. To use the WhaleTail as a tablet stand, set your device on the desired surface and adjust the WhaleTail to whatever angle you’de like. This is a tablet stand you can adjust to any angle, high or low, and use on any plane, horizontal or vertical. If you want a little more stability for typing, gaming or just browsing the internet, you can even adjust the twin flukes!

Prefer a tablet handle? Just thread the WhaleTail between your fingers and bend it to the contour of your hand and you’ve got support! You can even adjust the twin flukes for a more fitted handle. Now you’re free to move around with your tablet without worry of dropping it.

The whole system costs $59.95 and comes in a drawstring bag. Did we mention the bag is made of a screen cleaning fabric? There’s no part of this product that isn’t functional.
